it’s the most exciting, freeing, terrifying, wonderful, eye-opening, daunting, stunted, never-ending, giant, tearful, and unlimited dead-end you will ever encounter. I hate the blank page as much as I love it. But the time for reflection is over. Time to grab my pencil, sit at my keyboard, and tap into what little knowledge I have. And relive all my experiences, and translate it all into music. Time to compose. Time to start on that journey that will lead to my Tony. Time to act on the riskiest and most life-changing decision I have ever made in my life. It’ll be tough. I’m sure I’ll give up and start again more than once. But if I cannot finish this project I won’t be able to finish anything.
Like Sondheim wrote…art isn’t easy.
